Real Madrid have made it a point to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, having failed to replace Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
Although Real Madrid’s main priorities remain Rodri and Vitinha, both transfers appear difficult to complete.
Rodri’s case raises concerns due to his age and doubts about his physical condition, while Vitinha would likely command a massive fee from PSG. The Portuguese midfielder himself has also stated that he feels very comfortable in Paris.
As such, Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is monitoring the situation of Enzo Fernandez closely at Chelsea.
The Argentine midfielder is said to be frustrated in London, and if tensions within the club continue, especially if they fail to secure Champions League qualification, Real Madrid could see an opportunity to pursue his signing.

Moreover, Fernandez may not wish to remain at Chelsea for many more years if the club cannot compete for major trophies such as the Champions League or the Premier League. If he continues to see limited prospects of success, he could push for a transfer.
Within Real Madrid there have been growing doubts about Eduardo Camavinga’s performances. The French midfielder has struggled to make the expected leap in consistency, and injuries have also affected his development.
As a result, his name has emerged as one of the players who could potentially leave the club this summer. And, Real Madrid are considering including the 23-year-old Frenchman as part of a deal to reduce the cost of signing Fernandez.
Chelsea, for their part, are believed to admire Camavinga, which could make such an operation more feasible.
Compared with the complicated pursuits of Rodri or Vitinha, the Fernandez deal might become the most realistic option for Real Madrid, although much will still depend on how the coming months unfold.
