Real Madrid wonderkid Franco Mastantuono has been sidelined for the past few weeks as he continues to deal with pubalgia.
The 18-year-old attacker, who joined from River Plate in the summer, soon became a regular under Xabi Alonso.
And while he showed glimpses of his immense potential, the performances never quite hit the heights he is capable of, and the discomfort stemming from his pubalgia issue played a part in it.
Now, though, according to AS, Mastantuono’s pubalgia is evolving in a positive way and optimism around his fitness condition is growing.
The exact date of the Argentine international’s return is unknown, but the discomfort is decreasing significantly.
As per the report, the Real Madrid summer signing has been dealing with the pubic discomfort for five months – having suffered the injury back in June, while he was still playing for River Plate at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Mastantuono has continued training and playing, but never felt fully comfortable. Some days the pain faded almost completely and he could enjoy football. Other days it did not.
The condition got worse before Real Madrid played Liverpool in the Champions League, leading to his absence from the trip to Anfield and the subsequent game against Rayo Vallecano.
During these three weeks, Mastantuono has not forcing anything with his fitness issue and has patiently followed a highly detailed and personalised recovery plan. And, it is paying off.
The 18-year-old’s condition is improving, although there is no definitive date set for his return. The player, for his part, longs to get back on the field and play without the pain and discomfort, while aiming to prove himself at Real Madrid.
With only one goal and one assists from 12 matches, Mastantuono is aware that he can do much better and is ready to take the step forward.
