Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso addressed the Fede Valverde controversy this Friday while speaking to the press.

In recent days, the Spanish media have reported on tensions between Xabi Alonso and some of his players, including Vinicius Junior and Fede Valverde. Regarding the Uruguayan, who remained on the bench against Kairat Almaty on Tuesday in the Champions League, the Spanish coach was crystal clear.

"He is ready for tomorrow, like everyone else. We know how important he is and we want to finish this stretch with a victory." began the White House boss. Xabi Alonso then addressed the questions about Valverde allegedly refusing to play in a different position. "No player has ever told me that he does not want to play in a specific position. They are all highly motivated. We work closely together in match preparations. I have always noticed the confidence the players have in me, knowing what is coming." Xabi added.
