Real Madrid travel to Camp Nou on Sunday night to face Barcelona in the final El Clásico of the season.
Madrid won the earlier league meeting at home but were beaten by Barcelona in the Super Cup this campaign.
Their recent form has been shaky, leaving them second in the table with 77 points. They have picked up just two wins from their last five matches in all competitions, showing a clear dip in consistency.
A 2-0 win over Espanyol in their last game delayed Barcelona’s title celebrations, but Madrid still comes into this clash under pressure in what is effectively a must-win match.
The team is dealing with internal issues and several injuries. Reports suggest a training-ground clash between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, with Valverde now sidelined due to a head injury.
Madrid is already without Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, Arda Guler, Dani Ceballos, and Eder Militao, which has further weakened the squad.
There is some good news, though. Kylian Mbappe has been passed fit despite recent hamstring problems, and Thibaut Courtois is also expected to return in goal.
Manager Alvaro Arbeloa is likely to put Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fran Garcia at full-back, while Antonio Rudiger partners Dean Huijsen in central defence.
In attack, Vinicius Junior and Mbappe will be key as Madrid look to keep their title hopes alive and stop Barcelona from celebrating in front of their home fans.
Possible Real Madrid starting XI: Courtois; Alexander-Arnold, Rudiger, Huijsen, F Garcia; Camavinga, Tchouameni, Pitarch; Bellingham; Vinicius, Mbappe
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Sunday, 10th May.
