Real Sociedad secure long-term centre-back core, still exploring defensive addition | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have secured the heart of their defence for the coming years, led by Jon Martín’s new deal to 2032.

Kazunari Kita is under contract to 2030 after an impressive loan with Sanse from Kyito Sanga FC, and is training under Pellegrino Matarazzo with the first team this pre-season with a view to stepping up. According to AS, despite these commitments the club are still scanning the market for a centre-back, which would prompt a loan exit next season.

Luken Beitia, 22, also extended last week to 2030.

Jon Pacheco, 25, renewed in 2024 to 2030, while Igor Zubeldia, 29, one of the captains, is tied down until 2029.

Last season Aritz Elustondo, 32, departed at the end of his contract, and the club chose not to exercise their option on Duje Caleta-Car, 29.
