Real Sociedad forward Luka Sucic praised his cousin, Petar, who signed a long-term contract with Inter Milan in January.

In his recent interview with Croat news outlet 24 Sata via FCInterNews, Luka admitted he’s not surprised by the hype surrounding his cousin.

Inter had to overcome Serie A rivals Juventus and Como to sign the 21-year-old from Dinamo Zagreb this winter.

Simone Inzaghi’s charges splashed out approximately €14 million plus add-ons to sign Petar Sucic.

However, the versatile midfielder will stay in his homeland on loan until the end of the season.

Considered one of Croatia’s hottest prospects, Sucic will link up with his new club in the summer.

Meanwhile, his cousin, Luka, never plied his trade in Croatia.

Indeed, he swapped Red Bull Salzburg for Real Sociedad last summer in a deal worth €10m.

Both players will feature in Europe’s top-five leagues next season, which doesn’t surprise the Sociedad ace.

In addition to Petar Sucic, Martin Baturina is another Dinamo Zagreb gem closely followed by several European clubs.

“Petar and Martin are playing great for Dinamo,” Luka said.

“They are real players. To me, it’s only logical that they are attracting interest from big clubs.”

Petar has been out with a long-term injury, hence Inter’s decision to leave him in Zagreb until the summer.

“Right now, though, he’s injured,” Luka added. “Let him recover and return to the pitch first – that’s the most important thing for him at the moment.

“We stay in touch regularly, and I’m sure he knows exactly what the next step in his career will be.

“And if he ever needs advice, I’m always here for him.”

Meanwhile, asked whether Petar would be a welcome addition to Real Sociedad, Luka quickly replied: “Always.”
