Real Sociedad step up interest in Ladislav Krejci | OneFootball

Real Sociedad are accelerating their search for a centre-back and have held talks over Wolverhampton defender Ladislav Krejci, although no agreement is close. According to Diario Vasco, the 27-year-old is on the shortlist but he is not the only option.

Wolves paid 30 million euros to sign him from Girona in August 2025, and price has been the main obstacle. La Real do not intend to approach 30 million, nor the 20 million paid for Óskarsson and Sadiq, so any move looks complicated, without ruling out significant investment.

Krejci is understood to favour a return to La Liga after Wolves’ relegation to the Championship. The San Sebastián project appeals, with last season’s Copa win and Europa League ahead, plus the Supercopa in two matches.

La Real are approaching the window calmly rather than urgently, targeting a left-footed centre-back who upgrades the current group. Other avenues are open and could advance in the coming days.

Krejci left Sparta Prague for Girona for eight million plus four in add-ons, then joined Wolves for 30 million. He made 32 appearances, is captain of the Czech Republic, and featured at the World Cup, scoring in a 2-1 loss to South Korea.

The 1.91-metre left-footer is strong in the air and comfortable building from the back, a profile only Pacheco offers in the first team. Relations with Wolves are good after last summer’s Goncalo Guedes deal, but they are not set to give the player away.
