Sean Russell’s Reds are preparing for the 2026 season, with their first competitive fixture set for a trip to Athlone Town in the 2026 President’s Cup.

Ahead of the season opener in Athlone, the Reds will take part in a number of pre-season friendlies. The squad returned to training last month welcoming some new additions to the squad and playing staff.

Preparations will now turn to on-pitch action as the Reds continue their build towards the competitive season.

Following Russell’s squad’s first pre-season run-out against Shamrock Rovers, a 2-1 loss in Roadstone, next up is a meeting with DLR Waves on Saturday, February 21st.

The Reds will then face Peamount United on February 28th to conclude their pre-season schedule.

All games will be played behind closed doors unless otherwise advised in advance.

As Russell continues to build out his squad, Shelbourne FC are delighted to announce the re-signings of Keeva Keenan and Leah Doyle.

Keeva Keenan, known for her physicality and strong defending style has re-signed for the Reds ahead of the 2026 season. Following a season ending injury in the 2025 campaign, Keenan’s recovery has been very positive and she is expected to be available for the season opener.

Leah Doyle, appraised for her array of attributes on and off the pitch has also re-signed for Sean Russell’s side for the 2026 season. Leah has been a firm starter in recent years. A physical defender who gets forward and provides a great wide option.

Following the re-signings of Keeva Keenan and Leah Doyle, latest addition Olivia Damico and several Reds Academy options joining the first team training setup and squad, Russell continues to build his squad ahead of competitive action. Further additions will be announced in due course.
