Ref Cam, VAR and mic’d referee for OL Lyonnes v Paris FC final | OneFootball

Friday night's OL Lyonnes v Paris FC final will feature an enhanced refereeing set-up, including VAR, a mic'd referee and, for the first time, a "Ref Cam".

According to Le Progres, referee Elisa Daupeux, voted the season's best, will be able to announce her decisions after any VAR checks, with the system in use for this final.

The "Ref Cam" is a body camera worn by the referee to place viewers closer to the action on the pitch.

Daupeux will wear the number 84 on her back, a nod to the percentage of French people who believe promoting referees helps protect sport.

Canal +, broadcasting the final free-to-air, can use the device to make coverage more engaging.

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, the match will go to extra time, then penalties if needed.
