Chelsea insist Cole Palmer is a crucial part of the club’s project and they don’t want him to leave according to Fabrizio Romano.
Palmer joined Chelsea on deadline day in summer 2023 from Manchester City in a deal thought to be worth around £40m.
The England international has had a huge impact at Stamford Bridge, and has scored 48 goals and registered 29 assists in 110 appearances for the Blues.
Palmer has struggled with a groin injury this season, and missed virtually the entire first half of the campaign before returning against Leeds in December.
The 23-year-old has struggled for form since his return, and has scored three goals, including an important penalty against Brentford last weekend.
Palmer missed the game against Pafos with a slight strain, and Chelsea are clearly being very careful in the way they manage him.

Chelsea are confident Palmer will be fit to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, and the Blues need to get him back to his best as quickly as possible.
Amid his recent on pitch struggles, Palmer had been linked with a move to Manchester United, and Romano has now provided an update.
“Regarding rumours about Cole Palmer and a Manchester return, Chelsea position is very clear, he’s crucial part of the project and they don’t want him to leave,” he told his YouTube channel.
“Chelsea are not on alert for anything at this stage, there will always be rumours around a top player like Cole Palmer but as of today, January, nothing is happening and Chelsea are counting on Cole Palmer at this stage.
“Also, Rosenior message was quite clear, playing down the reports.”
Whilst the Blues are trying to get the best out of their star man again, the club are reportedly looking to sign another attacker this year.

Chelsea already have Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha arriving at the end of the season from Sporting Lisbon and Strasbourg respectively.
It’s possible another attacker could be a back up for the Englishman in the number ten role as Chelsea don’t really have that role filled in the squad.
