Sunderland close their Premier League season at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, chasing a final win that could yet deliver European football next season. According to Sunderland Echo, Régis Le Bris faces major calls on his starting XI and bench after injuries this week.
There is little doubt Robin Roefs continues in goal after a fine couple of weeks to round off a brilliant debut campaign.
Lutsharel Geertruida looks likely to leave this summer, yet he has underlined his professionalism, quality and commitment with two strong displays that put Sunderland back in the European race. He seems certain to continue at right back.
Nordi Mukiele is ideally used at right back, but Le Bris's reshuffle in Ballard's absence over the last fortnight has worked well. Comfortable at centre back and performing strongly, he is likely to remain in the middle.
Luke O'Nien was superb off the bench against Everton, which looks likely to secure his place in the XI. Omar Alderete faces a late fitness test, and Le Bris currently expects to be without him.
