Sunderland end their Premier League campaign at the Stadium of Light on Sunday against Chelsea, with Régis Le Bris hoping for a final win that could yet secure European football next season.
Injury setbacks this week mean significant selection calls for the head coach across the starting XI and the bench. According to Sunderland Echo, this is how his side may line up.
Robin Roefs will continue in goal after a superb debut season and a strong fortnight. Lutsharel Geertruida, who looks likely to leave this summer, has underlined his professionalism and quality with two impressive displays and seems certain to remain at right back.
With Dan Ballard absent over the last fortnight, Nordi Mukiele has shifted inside from right back and performed strongly, so is likely to continue at centre back. Luke O’Nien was excellent off the bench against Everton and looks likely to start, with Omar Alderete facing a late fitness test and Le Bris currently expecting to be without him.
Others may be tasked with changing the game from the bench if required. Sunderland will aim to round off a superb campaign in front of their own supporters by finding one more big performance.
