Rei dos Frangos agrees sale of Benfica SAD stake to US fund | OneFootball

José António dos Santos, known as Rei dos Frangos, has agreed to sell his 16.38% stake in Benfica SAD to US fund Entrepreneur Equity Partners.

A separate statement from José António dos Santos and Grupo Valouro sets completion for the end of July 2026. Record writes that the document does not disclose the price for the 3,767,400 shares.

Completion remains subject to prior approval for the transfer under Benfica SAD statutes, along with other customary contractual conditions and formalities. The move comes while a bond issue is running.

Entrepreneur Equity Partners is headquartered in Delaware. The fund is linked to Francesca Bodie, former chief operating officer of Oak View Group, which manages several sports venues in the United States.

It is also connected to Gregory L. Williams, CEO and chairman of Acrisure, a fintech with interests in sport.
