Tijjani Reijnders says he’s relishing the chance to bond with supporters at our special Open Training session.

City fans of both our men’s and women’s teams are set to descend upon the Joie Stadium on Tuesday 5 August for the unique City Are Back event, presented by Etihad Airways.

It aims to excite fans about the return of domestic football by offering them a chance to watch the two squads train, including seeing our signings in action for the first time.  Reijnders will be one of those new recruits and he’s looking forward to the chance of meeting our fans for the first time on home soil.

“I was delighted to join City in the summer and the excitement is definitely building now with the season getting closer and closer,” said Tijjani.

“We obviously had the Club World Cup and it was a privilege to play in that, represent the team and see all the City fans out in the US to support us.

“We’ve had a short break to recharge the batteries but now we’re focused on what’s to come with open training next week, the Palermo friendly and then the Wolves game will be here before you know it.

“I think this Open Training session with the fans in Manchester is important for all of us to connect ahead of the season starting and I’m definitely looking forward to it as a new signing.

“I’m someone who cares a great deal about the relationship you build with supporters and the importance of your supporters in any success you achieve.

“I look forward to seeing lots of them there. I hope they have a great day watching the training and we are really determined to give them an exciting season ahead.”

Tickets for the special event, which are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for Under 21s and Over 65s, are now on general sale, after a period of exclusive access for official members.

Four tickets can be claimed for each transaction, so fans can bring a friends or family members should they wish. Mobile tickets will be issued closer to the event.

Anyone who attends the event and buys a home, away or Club World Cup jersey on the day can enjoy free printing on their shirt by showing their ticket at the till. The offer is only available on the day at both the Etihad Stadium and Joie Stadium.
