Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos has been re-elected to lead the Federação Paulista de Futebol until 2030 on Wednesday, after the CBMA authorised the assembly despite a judicial suspension issued the day before.
According to Diario Do Peixe, he faced no rival slate, as none met registration requirements, and was returned unanimously by acclamation.
Fernando Sollero and Mauro Silva will serve as vice-presidents. Under the federation's statute, this is the final mandate available to the president.
To register a candidacy, at least 12 clubs across state divisions must provide formal backing. Carneiro Bastos's ticket drew near-total support among leading series, with only Desportivo Brasil declining to sign from the 64 eligible, due to bureaucratic issues. Santos were represented by vice-president Fernando Bonavides.
An alternative bid led by lawyer Wilson Marqueti did not advance for lack of support. The electoral process faced legal challenges over statute changes that allowed another reappointment, and an amateur league briefly secured a ruling to suspend the vote before the CBMA decision superseded it.
The arbitral ruling enabled the General Electoral Assembly to proceed under the federation's independent commission, confirming a 2027-2030 term. If he serves it in full, Carneiro Bastos will complete 15 years at the helm, among the longest tenures in the FPF's history.
