The impending arrival of Senne Lammens at Manchester United has raised questions over the role Andre Onana is poised to play this term.
After the Cameroonian spent the entirety of United’s pre-season sidelined with a hamstring injury, fans assumed that it was his lack of training that prompted Ruben Amorim to call upon Altay Bayindir over Onana for their Premier League season-opener against Arsenal.
Then, when Onana returned to the matchday squad in the form of a substitute for Sunday’s clash at Craven Cottage, with Bayindir retaining his place between the sticks, it looked as though Amorim was making it clear the 29-year-old was no longer his No.1.

Judging by the latest reports doing the rounds this afternoon, it does seem like that’s the case.
Onana is now being tipped for a late window departure from Old Trafford, with his omission in west London leaving both himself and several of his teammates ‘shocked’, according to United In Focus.
He is said to be ‘unhappy’ with how the situation has panned out after entering the new campaign with expectations of playing an integral starting role under Amorim.

UIF’s report adds that West Ham have established their interest in taking the disgruntled Red on loan for the term, while CaughtOffside claims Galatasaray will move for Onana if they fail to get a deal over the line for Manchester City’s Ederson.
‘Active talks’ have been held with intermediaries to potentially facilitate the ‘keeper’s exit just two years after United forked out £47 million for him.
