Lyon’s academy talent took centre stage in the Europa League as 18-year-old Khalis Merah opened his OL account against PAOK.

L'Équipe notes that Lyon were without senior forwards Sulc, Endrick, Ghezzal, Fofana and Nuamah, so the youngsters carried the attack.

Rémi Himbert, 17, brought Lyon level on 33 minutes.

On 55 minutes, Merah curled a right-footed finish to make it 2-1, after Afonso Moreira, 20, picked him out with a cut-back in the area, having earlier assisted Himbert.

The lead proved brief, as Soualiho Meïté, the Frenchman at the Greek side, headed in to equalise on 67 minutes.
