Renato Gaúcho has rotated Vasco across three competitions and has now gone exactly two months without naming the same Brasileirão starting XI. He is juggling absences while trying to keep the side competitive.

Globo.com reports that the only repeated league XI came in March in wins over Fluminense and Grêmio, with Léo Jardim, Paulo Henrique, Saldivia, Robert Renan, Cuiabano, Hugo Moura, Thiago Mendes, Tchê Tchê, Nuno Moreira, Andrés Gómez and David.

Since then, there have been eight straight league games with different line-ups. In that spell, Cuiabano sustained a left thigh oedema and has not featured since the 1-0 defeat to Corinthians.

More recently, Paulo Henrique sprained his right ankle and is only expected to return after the World Cup break.

At centre-back, Robert Renan has started all 12 league games under Renato. Saldivia and Cuesta have struggled to secure the other berth after a run of poor displays.

The right flank remains unsettled too. Nuno Moreira began the first four matches there, then Rojas, Hinestroza and Brenner had chances without convincing. Adson started the 1-0 win over Athletico-PR after a promising display, but he is on load management and missed Internacional as a precaution after signs of fatigue, deemed normal following a long lay-off.
