Rennes 2-1 Paris FC ratings: Estéban Lepaul hits 20 as Embolo clinches Europe | OneFootball

Estéban Lepaul, the league’s leading scorer, headed his 20th goal of the season as Rennes overturned Paris FC 2-1 on Sunday, the equaliser preceding Breel Embolo’s deft back-heel winner that secured European qualification.

According to L'Équipe, Lepaul was rated seven. He had been denied by Trapp on 36 minutes, then nodded in Merlin’s corner under the bar on 74 minutes. The striker later made way for D. Cissé on 87 minutes.

Paris FC had gone ahead on 53 minutes, Willem Geubbels punishing a Rouault mistake with a right-foot finish from a wide angle past Samba. He was replaced by Immobile on 71 minutes, and the substitute missed a late chance to level at 90+2.

Szymanski was lively early but drifted, and on 67 minutes Embolo replaced him. The Swiss forward struck the decisive goal on 75 minutes, turning in Nordin’s cross with a back-heel in front of Coppola.

Paris FC’s right-back Hamari Traoré struggled, beaten by Lepaul for the equaliser and allowing Nordin to pick out Embolo for the second, before departing for A. Camara on 76 minutes.

Coppola also received four after an uncertain display in his positioning and distribution, and he was beaten by Embolo for the winner. Geubbels was given six, while Szymanski took four and Embolo was not rated.
