Rennes’ Jérémy Jacquet to undergo Liverpool medical | OneFootball

Rennes centre-back Jérémy Jacquet (20) will fly out today to Merseyside to undergo a medical with Liverpool, according to Ouest-France. On Sunday, the Reds agree to a €60m transfer fee with an additional €12m worth of add-ons with Rennes to sign the highly promising France U21 international defender.

Jacquet is expected to put pen to paper on a Liverpool five-year deal with an extra optionnal year. The 20-year-old defender will be loaned back to his formative club for him to see out the remainder of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 campaign.

Jacquet was previously a target for Arsenal and Chelsea, but the Frenchman has opted to pursue his development with Liverpool, who were in dire need of defensive reinforcements as France international Ibrahima Konaté’s future on Merseyside remains incertain beyond the expiry of his contract next June.
