According to a report from L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Stade Rennais have set their asking price for striker Amine Gouiri (24). This is after Marseille’s second bid of €18m plus €3m in bonuses was turned down several hours ago. Tanzi reports that the two camps are moving closer to an agreement, but that Rennes are asking for €25m with bonuses included. Foot Mercato insider Santi Aouna reports that the player is reportedly keen to join the club, but is becoming increasingly impatient with the current progress of negotiations. Rennes sporting director Frederic Massara has rejected two bids now, and has reportedly changed the terms of negotiations – much to the frustration of Les Phocéens and the player.Gouiri is reportedly Marseille’s priority signing to get over the line in the next few days ahead of the closing of the winter transfer window. After Marseille sold Elye Wahi (24) to Eintracht Frankfurt last week, manager Roberto De Zerbi and OM are expecting a ‘strong’ replacement this winter. The Algerian international would be joining his fourth Ligue 1 club if a deal is to be signed and sealed between all parties, after stints and OL, Nice , and most recently Stade Rennais.GFFN | George Boxall
