AC Milan and Inter Milan are reportedly going head-to-head in the race to sign in-demand Lazio center-back Mario Gila. 

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Spanish defender could be available on favorable terms this summer.

Mario Gila will be out of contract next summer, with Lazio still unable to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

Therefore, the Biancocelesti could reluctantly sell the former Real Madrid star at the end of the season to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Furthermore, Claudio Lotito is reportedly willing to offload the 25-year-old in a cut-price deal.

AC Milan & Inter Milan Battle It Out for Lazio Star Mario Gila

With less than two years left to run on his current contract, Lazio cannot expect to sell the Spaniard at a premium price.

Instead, Gila could leave for around €20 million, with AC Milan and Inter vying for his signature.

The Rossoneri have already made contact with the player’s entourage to discuss a potential summer transfer.

However, the runaway Serie A leaders remain firmly in the race, as Beppe Marotta aims to strengthen Cristian Chivu’s defensive options.
