Arsenal Women Sign Geraldine Reuteler as Midfield Rebuild Gathers Pace

Arsenal Women have moved decisively again in the summer market, completing the signing of Switzerland midfielder Geraldine Reuteler after her departure from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 27-year-old arrives with a growing reputation, a wealth of experience and the sort of quality that suggests Arsenal mean business in the Women’s Super League this season.

Reuteler is understood to have agreed a four-year deal and will wear the number 14 shirt. She becomes Arsenal’s third summer addition, following Georgia Stanway and Selina Cerci, as the club continue to strengthen a squad built to challenge on every front.

Geraldine Reuteler Brings Experience and Quality

There is substance to this deal. Reuteler spent eight years in the Frauen-Bundesliga and built an outstanding body of work at Frankfurt, making 184 appearances in all competitions, scoring 54 goals and adding 44 assists. Those numbers underline a midfielder capable of influencing games in every phase, with intelligence on the ball and a sharp eye for the final pass.

Reuteler said: “Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world and I’m so proud that I can be here. I love the way this team plays and I can’t wait to test myself against the best players in the WSL [Women’s Super League]. I want to add to the history and success of this football club and I’m looking forward to walking out at Emirates Stadium in front of all our supporters.”

Arsenal Women Backed by International Pedigree

Her journey began at FC Stans before she moved to FC Luzern, where she made her senior top-flight debut at just 15. Since then, her development has been relentless. She joined Frankfurt in 2018, a year after winning her first Switzerland cap, and has now reached 91 appearances for her country.

She also played a key role as Switzerland reached the Euro 2025 quarter-finals on home soil, evidence of a player comfortable on the biggest stage.

Renee Slegers Eyes Stronger Midfield Options

Manager Renee Slegers made clear why Arsenal pushed to get the deal done. “I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring her to Arsenal. She’s a really technical, intelligent player and combines this with good athleticism, which we believe makes her a great addition to our midfield group. I’m looking forward to starting to work together when pre-season begins.”

For Arsenal Women, this feels like another smart step. Reuteler brings pedigree, versatility and proven output. In a league where margins are so fine, signings like this can shape a season.
