Vinicius Jr.’s future remains one of the biggest unresolved stories of Real Madrid’s summer as the club continues to wait for the Brazilian forward to respond to its long-standing contract renewal offer.

While Los Blancos focus on completing the expected arrivals of Yan Diomande and Rodri, negotiations with Vinicius have yet to reach a conclusion.

His current contract expires in June 2027, and despite discussions stretching back nearly a year, no agreement has been reached.

Arsenal continue their pursuit

As negotiations with Real Madrid remain unresolved, Arsenal are said to be pushing hard to convince Vinicius to move to North London.

The Premier League champions see the Brazilian as the marquee signing of Mikel Arteta’s project and are prepared to offer him the most lucrative contract in the club’s history.

According to reports in England, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal have already reached a preliminary agreement with Roc Nation, the agency representing Vinicius.

The claim originated from the HandOfArsenal account and has since been picked up by several British outlets.

According to those reports, the understanding between Arsenal and the player’s representatives could be used as leverage in an attempt to persuade Real Madrid to improve their renewal offer.

Nonetheless, the claims should be taken with a grain of salt as their veracity remains up in the air.

Contract talks at a standstill

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are unwilling to improve the renewal proposal already on the table.

However, Vinicius’ representatives continue to seek better terms, particularly regarding the distribution of image rights.

Although the Brazilian has repeatedly stated that he wants to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, the lack of a final response has reportedly begun to test the patience of the club’s hierarchy.

Decision expected soon

Neither Vinícius nor his representatives have publicly commented on the situation. The Brazilian winger is currently finishing his summer break before returning to Real Madrid’s pre-season preparations next week.

His return could prove decisive, with the long-running saga expected to move toward one of two outcomes: signing a new long-term contract with Real Madrid, or opening the door to a summer transfer if an agreement cannot be reached.
