In a major development, Catalunya Radio reports that FC Barcelona are now ready to pay the €30 million transfer fee to sign Marcus Rashford permanently from Manchester United.
Manager Hansi Flick has been pleased with the England international’s impact and is keen on keeping him at the club beyond this season.
Barcelona, for their part, have been eager to retain Rashford’s services beyond the ongoing campaign.
However, the issue, as far as the club is concerned, had been paying the €30 million fee to make his transfer permanent from Manchester United.

Instead, the Blaugrana had been pushing for another loan deal with a mandatory purchase option at a lower price for next summer.
The Red Devils, however, had been standing firm on their stance that Barça would have to pay the full €30 million fee to keep Rashford.
Having debated the issue internally, Barcelona have now seemingly decided that they will pay the €30 million figure that was agreed upon last summer in the loan agreement.
This is because the club believe that it will be difficult for them to find a player of Rashford’s quality at that price in the market.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United last year and has had an impactful season, playing an important role in the La Liga and Spanish Super Cup triumphs.
In 48 appearances, the Englishman has 14 goals and 14 assists each for the Catalans.
Rashford, for his part, has always been clear that he wants to continue at Barcelona and is even willing to sign a lengthy contract at lower wages in order to facilitate the operation.
With the Catalans now seemingly ready to shell out the €30 million fee, the deal could soon be secured.
