Fiorentina are exploring defensive reinforcements and have turned their attention to the Premier League. One name under consideration is Diego Coppola, currently with Brighton & Hove Albion after his move from Hellas Verona, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.

The interest is described as genuine rather than advanced. Coppola is in his first season in England and is still settling, but his early exposure has been carefully managed. The 2003 born centre back has featured in five league matches, starting twice, and has been trusted with three starts in the League Cup.
From Fiorentina’s perspective, this is about monitoring rather than accelerating. As one line from Italy put it, “The interest is real, even if no concrete step has yet been taken”.
Coppola was never signed as an instant starter but as a development project, a defender with physical tools and Serie A grounding who could be shaped within Brighton’s system. Early appearances suggest trust without overload, which aligns with how the club prefers to nurture talent.
Fans will recognise the pattern. Brighton recruit young, expose them gradually, then reassess value once adaptation has taken hold. Fiorentina’s interest feels premature from that perspective. Coppola has barely completed his first English season, and supporters would expect the club to resist any move before his progression becomes clearer.
There is also confidence in Brighton’s defensive depth and planning. Even if Italian interest grows, fans believe the club will dictate terms, either keeping Coppola to fulfil his trajectory or extracting value that reflects Premier League inflation. For now, this looks like continental curiosity rather than a genuine threat. Brighton supporters have seen this story many times before and know that patience often proves profitable.
