Report Calhanoglu agent meeting Fenerbahce candidate | OneFootball

It’s reported Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent is in Istanbul to meet with Hakan Safi, the Fenerbahce Presidential candidate tied to Paolo Maldini.

While it is not surprising that once again there are reports Calhanoglu is linked with a move to Turkish club football, which he has never experienced, it is certainly unusual that he should be in talks with Fenerbahce.

The player has never disguised that he grew up supporting their arch rivals Galatasaray, and any potential move to Turkiye was always aimed at making that childhood dream come true.

Now Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims that Calhanoglu’s agent has arrived in Istanbul for a meeting with Hakan Safi.

This is notable because he is the Presidential candidate working with Milan legend Maldini.

This is all very early days, considering Hakan Safi is only a candidate and by no means guaranteed to become the President of Fenerbahce, let alone be able to negotiate transfers.

Inter also seem to have no real intention of letting Calhanoglu go, after last summer’s tension was resolved with success in Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
