Rosenior is thought to be clinging onto the Chelsea job by a thread after Tuesday evening’s 3-0 defeat against Brighton.

Chelsea have now lost their last five games in the league without scoring a goal, and the fans turned on both Rosenior and the players at full time.

Chelsea make contact with Andoni Iraola

Rosenior only arrived in January and signed a six and a half year contract at the club, but after a positive start the wheels have fallen off.

It’s clear there’s a disconnect between players and manager, one which doesn’t look like it can be resolved, and Romano has reported Chelsea are holding meetings over Rosenior’s future.

A final decision is yet to be taken, but according to RMC Sport Chelsea are considering several candidates, and have made initial contact with Iraola.

The report adds former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic is another name of the list, whilst Chelsea could also appoint an interim until the end of the season.

Iraola will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season, so it’s highly unlikely the Blues would be able to get him straight away, but Terzic is a possibility given he’s currently out of work.

Former Blue Emmanuel Petit has claimed the players have stopped playing for the club, and it’s hard to argue against that given recent performances.

The performances over the last five games have been nothing short of unacceptable and it’s clear the players aren’t playing for the manager any more.
