Bergvall sounds exactly like the kind of midfielder supporters want to see arrive, young, progressive, athletic, and apparently keen on the move. Hearing that “Bergvall is open to the move” and that Glasner sees him as “one of his priority midfield targets” is enough to make fans dream a little.

But there is frustration here, too. If Spurs want £50m and have already rejected £38m, Forest have to decide whether this is smart ambition or another negotiation where the price keeps floating away. Supporters will worry about overpaying, especially when that kind of fee can define a summer window. Bergvall may be excellent, but £50m is elite-money territory, and Forest cannot afford too many misses at that level.

The more annoying part is that Tottenham seem entirely relaxed. “Tottenham are under no pressure to sell” is exactly the line Forest fans would hate reading, because it means Spurs can drag this out on their terms.
