A bidding war between Inter Milan and AC Milan could see the price tag for Parma defender Giovanni Leoni go up significantly.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan’s interest in Parma defender Giovanni Leoni is well-known at this point.
The Nerazzurri had reportedly already tried to sign the teenage defender last summer. However, Parma beat them to the punch.
But after a very convincing campaign at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, Inter’s interest in Leoni has only grown stronger.
Particularly after the appointment of Cristian Chivu as coach. The 44-year-old had really gotten the best out of Leoni at Parma.
Therefore, Inter want to beat the competition and snap up Leoni this summer.

Inter Milan are not the only club with an interest in Leoni’s signature, however.
Far from it, the Nerazzurri face stiff competition in the form of city rivals AC Milan.
The Rossoneri have also made Leoni a priority target in defense. Therefore, they are hardly going to give up and clear the way for Inter to sign the teenager.
According to the Gazzetta, Parma are certainly not going to sell Leoni for less than €30 million.
However, the Emilian club could even hope that the competition between Inter and Milan to sign Giovanni Leoni sees the eventual fee rise well beyond that.
