Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan have not lost hope of signing Roma midfielder Manu Kone and could make a new attempt to lure him to San Siro in the summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri have allocated a substantial budget to complete the Frenchman’s signing.

Inter had tried to sign Manu Kone last summer, but Roma showed no interest in selling the former Borussia Monchengladbach star.

However, with the Nerazzurri preparing for a midfield overhaul, they’re likely to knock on Roma’s door again at the end of the season.

Furthermore, Inter could make Roma an offer difficult to refuse, especially amid the latter’s problems with Financial Fair Play.

Cristian Chivu’s men will reportedly be ready to put €40 million on the table, hoping it would be enough to change Roma’s mind.

Meanwhile, it feels like Kone would welcome the opportunity to join the 20-time Italian champions despite his first-team status in Rome.

In addition to the 24-year-old, Inter are looking to re-sign Aleksandar Stankovic, who joined Club Brugge last summer.

Despite leaving San Siro less than 12 months ago, the Serbian starlet is likely to return to his boyhood club at the end of the season.
