Several Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly interested in signing outgoing Inter Milan center-back Francesco Acerbi.
According to FCInterNews, the Italian veteran could continue his career in the Middle East.
The 38-year-old has lost his first-team status this season, accumulating just 14 Serie A appearances under Cristian Chivu.
Indeed, Yann Bisseck and Manuel Akanji have leapfrogged the former AC Milan defender in the pecking order.
Therefore, Inter have decided not to renew his expiring contract.
Former Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is one of Acerbi’s admirers in Saudi Arabia.
Indeed, Inzaghi was keen to bring the Italian center-back to Al-Hilal in the summer, but the Nerazzurri refused to sell their stalwart.
With Acerbi set to become a free agent in June, Inzaghi could make a new attempt to lure him to the desert.
Meanwhile, Stefan de Vrij is another experienced defender, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
However, unlike Acerbi, the Dutchman could stay in Europe, with several Premier League clubs reportedly keen to secure his services.
Furthermore, Benfica, Feyenoord, and some Turkish teams are also in the mix.
