Inter Milan are reportedly plotting a double swoop for Bologna first-team stars Santiago Castro and Sam Beukema.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri could lodge a joint bid for the Rossoblu aces in the summer.
Bologna value both players at around €20-25 million each.
As a result, completing this double deal could cost Inter up to €50 million.
Despite the high cost, both players boast technical and tactical attributes that perfectly fit Simone Inzaghi’s system.
Furthermore, Castro and Beukema have established themselves as senior Serie A stars at Renato Dall’Dara.
Therefore, Inter’s interest makes perfect sense.
Inter will part company with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic at the end of the season.
Castro has emerged as the club’s top target to bolster Inzaghi’s attacking options.
At 20, he’s a star in the making, resembling his more esteemed compatriot, Lautaro Martinez.
Meanwhile, Beukema has proved a reliable center-back under Thiago Motta and Vincenzo Italiano.
With Inter possibly cutting ties with Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, the 26-year-old would be a decent acquisition.
His physical presence and aerial ability would make him a perfect replacement for both veterans.
