Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly identified Genoa defender Leo Ostigard as a concrete target for the summer transfer window.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri could make a formal approach for the Norwegian star at the end of the season.
It’s no secret that Inter’s backline will undergo profound changes in the summer, facing numerous farewells.
Indeed, several veteran defenders will wave goodbye to San Siro in June.
Stefan de Vrij, Matteo Darmian, and Francesco Acerbi have failed to earn new contracts and are expected to leave.
Therefore, Inter must find suitable replacements for their outgoing stars.
In addition to long-term target Tarik Muharemovic, Inter have recently added Ostigard to their shortlist.
Unlike the Sassuolo center-back, who’s likely to command a substantial price tag, the former Napoli ace could be available for only €12 million.
Therefore, Inter are considering launching a summer bid for the 26-year-old, who has flourished at Stadio Luigi Ferraris this term.
Ostigard has established himself as a high-scoring center-back.
Indeed, he has netted five league goals this season, adding one assist.
Furthermore, he boasts decent technical skills and can play in various defensive setups.
