Although Vincenzo Italiano hasn’t yet agreed to a new contract with Bologna, sources claim the 47-year-old has given priority to the Rossoblu, despite interest from Milan.
Bologna coach Italiano is eager to extend his contract beyond 2026 at the Stadio Dall’Ara and will meet with club directors next week to determine his future.
The two parties already met a few days ago, and although the summit didn’t end with a handshake, Italiano and his club are set to meet again after the end of the season to continue negotiations.
The coach’s agent has denied negotiations with Milan, and according to Corriere dello Sport, both Bologna and Italiano are happy to continue working together beyond the summer.
Milan will announce Igli Tare as their new sporting director next week after the ex-striker signed a three-year contract with the Rossoneri today.
Tare will appoint a new Milan coach replacing Sergio Conceiçao and the likes of Massimiliano Allegri, Roberto De Zerbi and Gian Piero Gasperini are among those linked with the job at the Stadio Meazza.

Speaking to reporters after Bologna’s historic Coppa Italia victory last week, Italiano said:
“After some disappointments, I think we deserved this, especially as we played a great game tonight. It was an incredible performance, we knew once again what Milan would do in the second half, so we responded,” Italiano told Sport Mediaset.
“This incredible year is crowned with this trophy, which is what these fans deserved.
“I also want to send a dedication to Joe Barone’s family, because his son sent me a message this morning and I was immensely pleased. We came so close to lifting silverware with him too and they mean a lot to me.
“We had a few initial difficulties, but then have been going from strength to strength, both as individuals and a unit. Now please let me go and celebrate, because this is incredible,” smiled Italiano.”
