Paris Saint-Germain appear to have moved into pole position in the race to sign Maghnes Akliouche, with interest from the Premier League continuing to gather pace ahead of what promises to be another busy summer transfer window.
According to the latest reports from Fabrizio Romano, PSG are leading the chase for the highly rated AS Monaco winger, with two English clubs also firmly in the conversation. Monaco are now expecting formal bids to arrive soon, as discussions surrounding the French talent continue to intensify.
For Liverpool supporters, Akliouche’s situation is another reminder of how competitive the market has become for elite young attacking players. While the Reds have previously been linked with the 23 year old, their attention has also been drawn towards other wide forwards capable of reshaping their attack.
Liverpool’s recruitment team has cast a wide net in recent months. One of the standout names remains PSG winger Bradley Barcola, a player admired for his direct running, intelligence in possession and ability to stretch defences.
At the same time, Liverpool continue to be heavily linked with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, despite significant competition for his signature. Interestingly, PSG are also credited with an interest in Diomande, creating another potential transfer battle between two clubs looking to strengthen similar areas of their squads.
That overlap makes the Akliouche story particularly intriguing. All three players operate in comparable attacking positions, offering creativity, pace and the ability to unlock stubborn defences. Whether clubs ultimately pursue one target over another may depend on availability, valuation and timing rather than quality alone.
Liverpool’s recruitment has consistently shown patience rather than impulse. Identifying multiple options for each position allows decisions to be made without unnecessary pressure, especially when transfer fees continue to rise across Europe.
Akliouche undoubtedly fits the profile of a modern Liverpool target. He is technically gifted, tactically intelligent and still developing, qualities that appeal to clubs looking beyond immediate impact towards long term success.
Whether Liverpool choose to reignite their interest remains to be seen. Their pursuit of Barcola and continued admiration for Diomande suggest several pathways remain open as they reshape their forward line.
Meanwhile, PSG’s position at the front of the queue may force rivals to accelerate their own plans. If Monaco receive the expected offers in the coming weeks, Akliouche’s future could be resolved quickly, with Liverpool watching developments closely while continuing to assess a number of high calibre attacking alternatives.
