Report Maldini and Pioli could have Milan reunion at Fenerbahce | OneFootball

Paolo Maldini is in confirmed talks with Fenerbahce, and it’s reported he could have a Milan reunion in Istanbul with coach Stefano Pioli.

Fenerbahce Presidential candidate Hakan Safi has had several meetings with Maldini, first in Italy and then on Turkish soil, to discuss him becoming the new director of sport.

This is all hypothetical and based on Safi winning the election, but the Italian legend would represent a powerful figure in the campaign.

According to La Repubblica newspaper via MilanPress, this is not the only potential former Milan man who could end up at the Turkish club.

It is suggested that Maldini would want to reunite with his old coach Pioli, who was on the Rossoneri bench from 2019 to 2024.

Since then, Pioli has worked for Al-Nassr and very briefly at Fiorentina, where he was sacked just 14 competitive games into the current season.

Among the reasons for Maldini’s dismissal from Milan in 2023 was his insistence that the club not fire Pioli, so the pair do have a strong history together.
