Fulham Eye Ambitious Triple Swoop Before Deadline

Fulham’s transfer window could yet burst into life, with Marco Silva reportedly targeting a remarkable three new signings before the window shuts. According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson are among the names under consideration as Silva looks to reshape his squad.

Nelson Lined Up as Pereira Replacement

With Andreas Pereira edging closer to an £18 million move to Palmeiras, Silva is exploring wide options, and Nelson has emerged as a strong candidate. The Arsenal man spent time in west London last season, only for injury to cut his loan short. TEAMtalk reports: “Nelson, 25, is seen as a replacement for Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira.”

Nelson’s versatility and Premier League experience make him an appealing option, especially given Silva’s need for ready-made impact players.

Mainoo Loan Move on the Cards

The report also highlights Fulham’s interest in United’s young midfielder, with TEAMtalk revealing: “Manchester United midfielder Mainoo is one potential loan arrival for the Cottagers, although there is a big queue should he be given the go ahead to leave.”

Mainoo has yet to play a league minute under Ruben Amorim this term, despite being highly rated at Old Trafford. A temporary switch to Fulham could provide the consistent football he needs.

Defensive and Attacking Options Still in Play

Silva’s summer business has been limited to goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte, but further incomings appear imminent. Soungoutou Magassa of Monaco and Coventry’s Milan van Ewijk have been linked, while a move for PSV striker Ricardo Pepi is being assessed, though his recent knee injury is a concern.

TEAMtalk adds: “Silva says he wants three new signings, having only landed back-up keeper Benjamin Lecomte this window.”

If Fulham land even two of these high-profile targets, it would represent a serious statement of intent.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

From a Fulham fan’s perspective, this report is both exciting and cautious in equal measure. The names linked are impressive, but there are clear risks involved.

Firstly, Nelson returning would feel like unfinished business. Fans saw flashes of what he could offer last season, but his injury was frustrating. At 25, this could be the perfect time for him to settle into a regular role at Craven Cottage. If Pereira does depart, Nelson’s creativity and direct play could help fill that void.

As for Mainoo, the reaction would be overwhelmingly positive. Many Fulham supporters believe the midfield needs youthful energy, and Mainoo ticks every box. A loan, even for a season, could elevate the squad’s dynamism. However, with several clubs circling, expectations should be tempered.

Magassa and Van Ewijk are interesting links, but perhaps not the priority areas. Most fans would argue that the attacking line must be addressed. The possible pursuit of Ricardo Pepi is bold, but concerns over his fitness are valid. Supporters will want someone who can make an instant impact rather than waiting for form and sharpness to return.

In truth, the desire for three quality additions before the window closes is ambitious. Fulham fans will admire Silva’s determination but will also remain realistic. Even landing one marquee signing like Mainoo or Nelson would feel like a big win. Three would be a dream.
