Serie A runners-up Napoli are reportedly keen to sign sought-after Royale Union Saint-Gilloise star Anan Khalaili in the coming weeks. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, talks between the club and the player’s agent are well underway.
Born in Haifa, Israel, Khalaili has spent the last two years in Belgium. He joined Royale Union from Maccabi Haifa in 2024 and has since become one of the hottest prospects in the Jupiler Pro League. Only this season, he has made 51 appearances for David Hubert’s side, scoring five goals and adding six assists.
Khalaili’s rise to stardom at the Joseph Marien Stadium has caught the eye of Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna. Indeed, Manna has already reached out to the player’s agent to discuss a potential summer move to the Diego Maradona Stadium.
Furthermore, Napoli have formally inquired about Khalaili, who looks destined to leave Royale Union in the summer. However, he won’t come cheap, with the Belgian club reportedly slapping a €20 million price tag on his shoulders amid the Partenopei’s long-standing interest.
Khalaili, who will be 22 in September, can cover multiple positions in the middle of the park. He can operate as a right winger in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-2-1 system, even though the Italian manager’s future at Napoli is hanging by a thread.
Even if Conte doesn’t stay at the club, the four-time Serie A champions will make an attempt to sign Khalaili. Indeed, the Israeli star could be Napoli’s first early-summer signing. Given his form throughout this season and ample room for improvement, it’s fair to say that he’d be an upgrade on Matteo Politano.
