Report: PSG submit official request to Ligue 1 as they try to gain advantage over Chelsea

PSG are looking to postpone their Ligue 1 match against Nantes on March 15th in order to have more rest between the games against Chelsea according to reports.

The draw for the last 16 of the Champions League took place on Friday morning with Chelsea coming up against the French champions in a repeat of the Club World Cup final.
The first leg will take place in Paris on March 11th before the second leg in London on March 16th, and it’ll be the first time the two have met in this competition since the 2015/2016 season.
Luis Enrique has insisted his side aren’t out for revenge, and it’s set to be a very interesting clash with PSG at this moment not looking as strong as they did last season.
Chelsea will certainly fancy their chances over two legs, but PSG are looking to take steps to gain what could be a crucial advantage.

According to Get Football News France, the LFP (Ligue 1’s governing body) has revealed PSG are looking to postpone their Ligue 1 game against Nantes to give them more rest between the two games against Chelsea.
The report adds the LFP said that PSG have referred the matter to their board, with the agreement of Nantes for the game to be postponed until the end of April “In order to prepare in the best possible conditions for their two-legged tie with Chelsea in the Champions League.”
Chelsea meanwhile play Newcastle at Stamford Bridge in the 5:30pm kickoff on the 14th March just three days before he second leg.
Before the task of PSG, the Blues face a tough trip to Arsenal on Sunday, knowing they need points in the race for Champions League football.
