Report reveals why Luis Enrique wants Barcelona forward at PSG this summer | OneFootball

He had never been a very flashy player and had also received some criticism for his performances in the World Cup, but with this goal in the final, he has vindicated himself to a significant extent.

However, there were some individuals who highly valued the Spaniard even before his heroics in the World Cup. One such individual is the Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique, who knew Torres from his time as the head coach of the Spain national team, and had always thought highly of the player.

This summer, he reportedly wants the Blaugrana forward in his PSG team, and a report from SPORT reveals why Torres is a part of his plans, despite the Spanish coach already having a very competent attacking line, which boasts the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola, and Desire Doue.

The report claims that Enrique wants each position in his team to have a highly competent back-up, which would not only keep him ready for unforeseen circumstances like injuries, but would also provide him with several different profiles of players that will help his team adapt to any situation.

Keeping in line with this plan, the Parisians are pursuing three new signings for their attack, i.e., Yan Diomande, Maghnes Akliouche, and Ferran Torres. As far as the Barcelona forward is concerned, he will be the false nine in Luis Enrique’s system, but the Spanish tactician likes him for his ability to play in any position across the forward line and for his goalscoring ability.

For their part, the Blaugranes are not ready to facilitate his departure, but with only a year remaining on his current contract, it will not really be a surprise if Ferran Torres were to join PSG this summer.
