Report – Roma Overtake Juventus in Race to Sign Outgoing Inter Midfielder | OneFootball

Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi could join fellow Serie A rivals Roma this summer after being cast out by manager Cristian Chivu. According to Calciomercato, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are leading the race for the 26-year-old, with Juventus lurking in the shadows.

Despite going to great lengths to fend off Atletico Madrid’s approach last summer, Inter only postponed the inevitable. Chivu failed to live up to his pre-season promise and relaunch Frattesi’s career at Giuseppe Meazza, handing the former Sassuolo man just three Serie A starts in 2025/26.

Frattesi has been unable to reignite his Inter career under the new manager and is now looking to get back on track away from Milan. With two more years left to run on his contract, the Nerazzurri are eager to cash in on their wantaway star, who came close to joining Nottingham Forest in January.

However, Frattesi looks destined to stay in his homeland.

Roma Ahead of Juventus in Race for Davide Frattesi

Gasperini is in the market for a new midfielder as Roma could soon part ways with Manu Kone. Formerly linked with Inter and Juventus, the French ace has now emerged as a top target for Manchester United.

Though Roma are not enthusiastic about losing their midfield stalwart, Kone’s desire to continue his career at Old Trafford could force the Giallorossi into the market. Meanwhile, Gasperini has already identified Frattesi as an ideal replacement.

Roma must not get complacent just yet, as Giovanni Carnevali could make a last-ditch attempt to bring Frattesi to Juventus.
