With recent performances raising questions about the depth and quality of the team’s backline, Spurs fans are eager to see if the club can secure the young talent amidst competition from other European sides.

With injuries and inconsistencies plaguing the Lilywhites' defence, manager Ange Postecoglou appears determined to reinforce key areas, with Dorgu potentially emerging as a crucial addition to helping Tottenham maintain their ambitions this season.

At just 20 years old, Patrick Dorgu has already showcased his talent in Serie A with Lecce.

Capable of playing as a left-back or advancing further as a left-sided winger, his versatility makes him a valuable asset for any team.

Reports from GIVEMESPORT suggest that Dorgu tops Tottenham’s shortlist heading into January, despite competition from multiple clubs across Europe.

Tottenham’s interest stems from a pressing need to strengthen the left-back position. Ben Davies, whose contract expires in 2025, faces an uncertain future, while Destiny Udogie’s recent performances have left much to be desired.

Dorgu’s ability to contribute both defensively and offensively positions him as a potential long-term investment.

Lecce are understandably reluctant to part ways with such a promising talent midseason, especially given Dorgu’s importance to their current campaign.

However, should Spurs offer a compelling bid, the Italian club might reconsider.

The Denmark international's club holds a solid negotiating advantage, as his contract—reportedly earning him around £10,000 per week—remains valid until the summer of 2029.

A smart investment for Tottenham?

Dorgu’s youth and potential make him an appealing prospect for Tottenham. His physicality and technical skill have already caught the eye in Serie A, and many believe he has the attributes to adapt to the Premier League’s intensity.

A move in January would not only provide Tottenham with immediate reinforcement but could also prove to be a bargain in the long run if the deal is structured wisely.

The coming weeks will be crucial. If they can fend off interest from rival clubs and agree on a reasonable fee, Dorgu could become a pivotal addition to their campaign and a cornerstone for future success.

However, Lecce’s willingness to negotiate in January remains uncertain. Losing Dorgu would be a significant blow to their squad, and replacements midseason are hard to come by.
