Tottenham Hotspur now face serious competition for Folarin Balogun, with Paris Saint-Germain back in the race and determined to explore whether they can land him before the window closes.

Balogun rose through the Arsenal academy before heading out on loan to Middlesbrough and Reims, gaining valuable first-team experience before making his move to Monaco permanent in 2023.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a prolific season last term, finding the net 19 times and supplying five assists across 43 appearances as Monaco finished seventh in Ligue 1 and earned European football.

The Monaco striker also made his mark on the international stage at the World Cup, registering three goals across four outings for the United States.

His performances have strengthened his appeal in the transfer market, with Tottenham identifying the USA international as a target last month and the Lilywhites being tipped to ‘make a big move’ for him after the World Cup.

PSG joined the race for the 25-year-old striker earlier this month, providing major competition to Spurs for Balogun’s signature.

Despite the competition, the north London club were suggested to have ‘intense interest’ in the Monaco attacker, who would cost them around €60m.

PSG’s efforts then faded, but the situation has reversed and they are back looking at Balogun as a serious option.

According to French outlet PSGINSIDE-ACTUS, PSG have ‘resumed contact’ with Balogun and his camp.

It has been suggested that the Ligue 1 giants want to look into Balogun’s situation towards the end of the transfer window and assess whether they can sign him.

Having recently signed Ferran Torres from Barcelona, PSG are looking to further strengthen their striker department by signing the Monaco attacker.

They would though need an attacker to leave to make way for Balgoun.

Tottenham have made multiple signings to bolster their defence and midfield, while bringing in the 25-year-old forward could help improve the attacking output of Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs are able to secure the signature of Balogun amid interest from PSG.

Elsewhere, Tottenham are in line for a potential windfall from Troy Parrott’s proposed transfer to Real Betis, with growing confidence that the deal will be completed.
