Moises Caicedo was suspended for Chelsea’s Club World Cup quarter final against Palmeiras, but his teammates were able to get the job done without him.

Caicedo is in the best form of his career right now, and at times he’s carried the whole Chelsea team on his back when they’ve struggled.

He’s now fresh and ready to take on Fluminense in the semi final tonight, and he spoke to the club’s website about his expectations for the game.

“We are looking forward to this game and we have prepared well, trained well,” said Caicedo, fresh off a solid break of more than a week after last playing in the Benfica game of the second round.

“It’s so important for us. Brazilian teams have shown in the tournament how good they are and it’s going to be a great battle.

“I am looking forward to the game. It will be a tough game and I can’t wait to play and show why we are still here [in this tournament].”

The Brazilians have shown themselves to be really motivated, physical and tough, and we’re so happy to have the Ecuador star back to help compete with them.

Caicedo on romantic reunion with club legend Thiago Silva

Caicedo also saved some words for legend Thiago Silva, who has a poetic reunion with Chelsea just a year after leaving the club.

“He is a legend as you know. He will, for sure, have a great game and we are happy to face him. But we are going to show our level also.”

Thiago will give his all, despite the emotions, and our players had better do the same. We know Moises isn’t one to stand on ceremony.
