The England youth international could be set to move to The Hawthorns this summer, and here's how much West Brom are set to pay Chelsea for him.
West Bromwich Albion have rebuilding work to do in the summer following a narrow escape from Championship relegation in 2025-26, and they're set to pay Chelsea a substantial sum for forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
The 2025-26 Championship season turned out to be a difficult one for West Bromwich Albion. A two-point deduction for PSR breaches left them in 21st place in the final table, just one position and four points above the relegation places.
The appointment of James Morrison at the end of the season, meanwhile, marked the end of a year of instability in the managerial hot seat which resulted in the removal of both Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsey from the position.
Morrison's first job in permanent charge of the West Brom team for 2026-27 is to rebuild his first team squad with a view to avoiding last season's narrow escape, and one player that they could be set to sign as part of their overhaul is the young Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan in League One with Peterborough United.

With the summer transfer window set to open on the 15th June, work has already been done to ensure that everything is in place to start getting West Bromwich Albion's summer transfer business done, and they're set to pay Chelsea £1.3 million to secure the services of Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
It was revealed by Pete O'Rourke earlier in the week that Morgan was in advanced talks to arrive at The Hawthorns, and now, the Express & Star have confirmed that Albion are set to pay Chelsea this fee, with the forward having impressed in League One in 2025-26 season on loan at Posh.
Morgan has only played a season and a half of senior football, having spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan in League Two with Gillingham, before spending the entirety of last season with Peterborough, scoring 14 goals in all competitions for them.
Having proved himself in both League One and League Two, West Brom's interest in the forward confirms their confidence that the 20-year-old is ready to step up to a higher level.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan's performances for Peterborough United over the course of the 2025-26 League One season indicated that the young forward is capable of developing further as a player.
While the season was an extremely disappointing one for Posh, who could only finish in 18th place in League One, it was a success for Morgan, who scored twelve goals and contributed a further three assists in 34 League appearances for them, of which 32 were starts.
Morgan started his career in the academy at Stamford Bridge at the age of eight before transferring to Southampton three years later. But he returned to Stamford Bridge for an undisclosed fee in February 2023, and was sent for his first taste of regular League football in January 2025 in League Two with Gillingham, where he scored twice in 16 appearances.
Morgan has already represented England at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-20 levels, so there is little doubting that he has the talent to be able to succeed at West Bromwich Albion. To perform so strongly at a club that was struggling in the League indicates that he is ready to make the step up to the Championship.
With the appointment of James Morrison coming at the end of a turbulent 2025-26 for the Black Country club, West Bromwich Albion will be hoping for greater stability next season, and the arrival of this exciting young forward is an indication of an intention on the part of the club to avoid finding themselves in the tricky position in which they found themselves last time around.
