Reyes, Urbano shine with hat-tricks as Mexico defeat Jamaica | OneFootball

ALAJUELA, Costa Rica – The Final Round of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers kicked off with Mexico earning a 9-nil win against Jamaica in Group C on Tuesday at the Costa Rican Football Federation Field #2 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Mexico got off the mark early in the 3’, with a left-footed finish from Citlalli Reyes inside the box on an assist from Emily Delgado.

Mía Urbano added two more for El Tricolor with strikes the 7’ and 17’. Both goals were assisted by Reyes.

The roles were reversed in the 40’ for Mexico’s fourth goal. Urbano played a ball into Reyes, before striking the ball into the bottom-left corner from outside the box.

Reyes secured her third of the match in the 50’ with an effort from inside the box to capitalize on a cross from Fernanda Monroy. 

Urbano sealed a hat-trick performance in the 64’ with a banger from outside the box. 

Ixchel Alehna Uscanga further extended Mexico’s lead by burying a long-range effort into the top-right-corner in the 70’.

A goal from Delgado from the center of the box off a set piece opportunity in the 87’, and a long-range effort from Bianka Arredondo after a corner kick in the 89’, rounded out the result for Mexico.

Both teams will play their next encounter on Thursday, March 19. Mexico will face Panama, while Jamaica will meet Costa Rica.
