Rice And Timber Get 7.5 | Arsenal Players Rated In Solid Win Vs Athletic Bilbao

Arsenal faced off against Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners made a good start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Gabriel Martinelli came off the bench and finally opened the goal-scoring with a good run and finish in the 72nd minute. Leandro Trossard killed the game off in the 87th minute when he got his name on the scoresheet. The contest finished with Arsenal securing a solid 2-0 win away from home.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the match against Athletic Bilbao.
Raya made a couple of solid saves at the back and earned a crucial clean sheet on the road.
RB: Jurrien Timber – 7.5/10
He performed his defensive duties well and made two key chances going forward.
CB: Cristhian Mosquera – 7/10
Mosquera put his foot through the ball when needed and was a strong presence in the air.
CB: Gabriel – 7/10
He made a lot of important clearances inside his half and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

LB: Riccardo Calafiori – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: Mikel Merino – 7/10
Merino caught the eye at times but failed to register a goal.
CM: Martin Zubimendi – 7/10
He anchored the midfield with conviction but offered very little going forward.
CM: Declan Rice – 7.5/10
Rice was a constant menace in the final third and was strong in the air.
RW: Noni Madueke – 7/10
He was direct with his runs and was not shy of having a strike at goal.
ST: Viktor Gyokeres – 6/10
Gyokeres had his fair share of attempts but failed to get his name on the scoresheet this evening.
LW: Eberechi Eze – 7/10
Eze was a real menace at times in the final third, but never looked like he would score.
ST: Leandro Trossard – 8/10
He came on and scored a goal as well as secured an assist.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 8/10
Martinelli made an instant impact off the bench and gave Arsenal the lead. He also earned an assist for setting up Trossard’s goal.
