Liverpool have been losing players left, right and centre in recent days.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson played their final games for the club last weekend - with Anfield paying tribute following the game against Brentford on Sunday.

And while those exits were anticipated well ahead of time the same cannot be said for Ibrahima Konate. It now looks certain that the last day of the 2025/26 Premier League season was Ibou’s swansong in Liverpool colours too.

Richard Hughes has been unable to come to terms with the 27-year-old over a new deal - and he is now destined to leave on a free at the end of June.

Even lesser-heralded players - such as Rhys Williams - have confirmed their exits.

Curtis Jones deal under discussion

There will be more outgoings however. Alisson Becker now looks close to leaving for Juventus with the Italian side pledging to finally pay a transfer fee to secure the goalkeeper’s services.

And another Liverpool favourite looks bound for Serie A in the shape of Curtis Jones. It has been reported that Richard Hughes jetted out to Monte Carlo in order to hold talks with his Inter Milan counterpart Piero Ausilio earlier this week.

The Italian champions wanted a deal for Jones, 25, back in January but ultimately talks concluded unsuccessfully. But Liverpool still have a need to sell the midfielder - as he has only got one year left on his contract.

No breakthrough is likely for the England international - who has won two Premier League titles with his hometown club.

Liverpool and Inter £15m apart in valuation

He would like to figure at a club where he was more of a guaranteed starter - as those appearances in midfield haven’t been easy to come by under Arne Slot.

Inter would be a move that makes sense for the schemer - provided an agreement between the clubs can be reached.

Trusted Liverpool reporter Lewis Steele has now revealed that there remains a sizeable gap between what Liverpool want and what the Serie A giants are currently willing to pay.

Curtis Jones is another with strong interest from Italy,” his report reads.

“Inter Milan enquired in January and remain keen, though Liverpool value him at £35m.

“Sources in Italy say the Serie A champions want to pay closer to £20m for a player that has just one year remaining on his deal.”

This summer represents Richard Hughes’ final opportunity to bank a good fee for Jones.

It’s clear he’s not going to be fancied as an out-and-out starter in midfield under this manager - who took to using him at right-back towards the end of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Jones could do with a fresh start away from Anfield - as difficult as that may be to swallow for Liverpool fans who want to see a Scouser in the team.
