Richard Ríos has stepped up his push for a regular starting place at Benfica, making his case to José Mourinho after standout displays in the last two league matches.
Record writes that the Colombia international now feels he has everything in place to remain an undisputed starter following that impact.
In Arouca, the number 20 scored the goal that set Benfica on course for a comeback, which was sealed in stoppage time by a Franjo Ivanović strike.
At the Luz against Vitória de Guimarães, the midfielder provided two assists in a 3-0 win, further strengthening his claim after a spell behind Fredrik Aursnes and Leandro Barreiro.
Ríos wants to sustain this level and collect more opportunities from the start. He has also recently reached a significant career milestone, matching a mark from his Palmeiras stint.
This season, the 22 million euro-rated midfielder has played 39 official games, 21 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 12 in the Liga dos Campeões, three in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 3,110 minutes he has four goals and five assists.
